A bit off topic, but I have only watched QVC on the T.V. the once, when I was waiting for my Sunday Lunch a few months ago.
It demonstrated a gizmo being sold that plugged into the cigar lighter, which an Ipod could be plugged into. It sent a signal straight to the car's radio and it had all the controls etc for changing tracks. It seemed Very good, but when trying to order it online, they had sold out. Think I may e mail them, as a company like that can always get hold of them again. Was about £50 I think and no messing about with connections etc.

P.S. Just checked online, :- the are selling them again - £30+, under car acc'. Full money back, if not happy.

Yes , its comes with an adapter. I currently have the Belkin gadget that sends a signal via FM radio freq, but bluetooth will be better

You can get them for about £5 on ebay. I have 3 different types. They are OK but you do lose a little in sound quality.

I popped into the local audio installer and he said the above kit has only been around for a month or so, but they have already fitted 20+ units into customers cars

Review...

I,m using my Tom Tom Go 720 , i Pod Touch and my Blackberry.
  1. The Tom Tom has an external Bluetooth speaker ,so commands will be played through the cars speaker system either with the radio turn on or off. I tried it today and it's as good as the OEM version from Honda. Very clear and loud.
  2. You get a Bluetooth attachment that fits onto your Ipod turning it into a Bluetooth device. The clarity is crystal clear as good as a hard wired version .
  3. Lastly it's a hands free system with again crystal clear sound.
You can operate any 2 devices at anyone time.I,m not very easily impressed but this is one hell of a piece of kit. I had my car booked in for Hondas own aftermarket handsfree Bluetooth system but not for their price.

It cost me £150 fully fitted from Halfords ( by a skilled technician whom I know personally. If the fitting wasn' free he would have installed it for me at home anyway )
The operating button fits just below the central air vent

Highly Recommended 5 star rating !

Sorry for being a bit thick, but how does the ipod audio feed into the head unit?

Not a stupid question at all. I assume there must be some sort of amplifier/transmitter behind the dash...
