A/c compressor coil cheaper than Honda?

Hi there, first post(so bear with me)

First of all I own a 2.2 type s and Monday the air con decided to pack up(had to be the hottest week so far this year), I took it to a local air con specialist who diagnose it to be the compressor, but are too busy to have a look for two weeks.
Therefore I've had a look myself, I've found the a/c compressor coil has infinite resistance, (no good), i had a look on lings Honda and they want just over 100, (which I'm happy to pay if I have to), but wanted to know if anyone knows anywhere i could get one any cheaper?
Thanks Nick

Nick, I've used a good specialist here in Gloucester, AC Automotive. I appreciate that it's a good half hour away, but would happily recommend them after the work they did on mine.

How about a breakers? Or a 'wanted' ad here on Civinfo... someone may have replaced their faulty compressor but the old one still has a serviceable solenoid coil?

Good luck, but I don't see why you need to pay an AC specialist when you've already confidently (and correctly, in my opinion) diagnosed the problem.

I'm also not sure how they will be able to supply a cheap compressor solenoid, but why not phone them for a quote for the supply of that part only? I'm assuming that you're happy to fit it yourself?

Thanks, The only reason to have a specialist is for convenience around work, I have a few spare days coming up in a few weeks, so will do it myself if they can't do it before then. I'll make a few calls later after work.
Cheers
