How to reset Multi informational display

Just got m car yesterday 2007 2.2cdti 5dr with SAT NAV/HFT
i was reading thru the manual and also noticed i dont get REV lights coming up so i wanted to reset the MID (mult informational dispay)

Manual says igniton set to II and hold down info on steering wheel for 3 secs

I do that and all i get it 2 rectangles (bit like the incomplete icon) without any words

tried it with ignition on/off seatbelts on/off but jsut cant get past that stage

Is this something that can be done on my 2.2cdti as i dont think there is a option in the Voice commands.

I can browse MPG. TRIP, Fuel tank remaining as normal so button works.

Make sure your handbrake is on or you won't be able to scroll through

handbrake is on as in parked, (pulled UP)

* update read a old post - I dont get a handbrake light at all parked or not.
Im guessing that the handbrake recall was done and from the fitting of the plastic around the handbrake area one side is not flush so im guessing the trainee didnt cable the connector up inside either

I can see little pop clips one each side of the handbrake area is this easy to remove and reconnect the cable rather than book it into a different dealer (probably Francis Honda Leicester / Mountsorrel)
