Problem after satnav upgrade

Hi folks, I just had to force a downgrade on my sat nav as the disc was faulty. I reinstalled the oem disc using the 3 button method and it loaded it ok but now when every I turn the car on it goes to a diagnosis screen. The only way I can get it back is using the 3 buton push and then I can exit to the normal display until I turn the car off again. any ideas please?

Yes, you haven't come out of the diagnostics menu the correct way.

I'll try and find the post with the correct procedure. Basically you need to keep pressing 'return', I think, until you are back at the main menu.

........ looking ........

I know it was posted by NH Dan but I can't find it.

Ok found the answer and it works

System always comes up in in-line
diagnostic mode
1. When a navigation control unit is powered up for
the first time at the factory, the "factory diagnosis"
screen (In Line Diag) appears. Normally the factory
does the steps necessary to verify proper operation
and terminate the "factory diagnostic." Until the
proper confirmation sequence is done, the screen
appears every time the vehicle is started.
2. Follow these steps to prevent the screen from
showing up in the future:
Hold down the buttons (Menu+Map/Guidef
Cancel) for about 5 seconds (the "Select
Diagnosis Items" screen will appear).
Hold down the Map/Guide button for 5-
10 seconds (A screen with a "Complete" button,
will appear).
Touch "Complete," and then the "Return" button
(the system may re-boot).
Restart the vehicle, and confirm normal
operation
Farqui likes this.

If you want to take the credit for this, and why not.....

Repost it as a 'How To' as that is where it will be most useful.
