USB Invertor

I got a 300W USB 12V Invertor as an xmas present.

300W DC 12V to AC 230V Power Invertor with USB Charging Socket : In-Car Power Invertors : Maplin

Just wondering if anyone had one of these and if there is any down side to running one in the car?

You should be fine mate. I've got a similar one which I just use to charge laptop/camera etc. when I'm away on a long driving holiday!

I wouldn't use it for a hairdryer or anything! Nor would I use it when the car isn't running.

Pretty useful though if you're on the move a lot

Excellent thanks.

Just didn't know how these things worked if it's giving off that much power. Would it not drain the battery or anything?

Providing the engine is running and you're using low power devices like a laptop etc. you'll be fine mate. I'm sure someone else will confirm!
