Finally I will get my Civic !!! Car holder and speaker questions...

On Tuesday I will finally get my Civic Have been waiting since middle of August.

I just wanted to ask if anyone has experience with car holders on the Civic?

I have a Archos Gmini XS202 mp3-player and have not found any holder for it.

http://www.archos.com/products/audio...global&lang=en

Was looking for a holder on http://www.brodit.com/?lang=E , but they don't have any for Archos.

I was looking at the dimension of my Archos ( 76 x 59 x 19 mm / 2.9" x 2.3" x 0.7" ), and found some other brands that have the same width as the Archos are.

Here is a list I found:

Item no. 848666 fits: Mio A701

Dimensions: 117 x 59 x 21,8 mm
-------------------------------------------------------

Item no. 848725 fits: HTC P4350

Dimensions: 109 X 59 X 17 mm
-------------------------------------------------------

Item no. 848671 fits:

HTC Prophet
i-Mate JAMin
O2 XDA Neo
Orange SPV M600
Qtek S200
T-Mobile MDA Compact II

Dimensions: 109.0 x 59.0 x 18.4 mm
---------------------------------------------------------

Item no. 848590 fits:

Handspring Treo 600 For all countries
Handspring Treo 650 For all countries
Palm Treo 600 For all countries
Palm Treo 650 For all countries

Dimensions: 113 x 59 x 23 mm

So do you guys think I could buy any of these and use on my Civic?

I will then also buy the Civic mount from Brodit,

http://www.brodit.com/montering.jsp?anr=833734 or this http://www.brodit.com/montering.jsp?anr=853733.

Have not decided what to buy from these. Maybe the second will be hit by the gear stick?

I will also buy the
Infinity Reference 6510CS speakers and a small sub.

Probably the
Alpine SWD-1600 or the Pioneer TS-WX22A, anyone heard the Pioneer?

The Alpine should be good, because Roger Harris told that it is very good.

I also have the Connects2 adapter+cable to connect my mp3-player on the Civic.

I will look for a installer here in Finland, because I can't install it by myself.

So just 2 nights until I get my baby

Hi again

Found this magnetic holder:

http://www.krusell.se/category.php?category=3

Anyone know if it would be good for a mp3-player, instead of a traditional holder?

I don't see why not. I've used there for my own car and also my wife's though with mobile phones.

You get a strip of thin metal that you attach to the rear of the phone/MP3 player. Mine even works with the strip attached to the battery of my mobile (ie inside the case) but that would certainly not work for a heavy IPOD.

Anyone knows how much room it is under the backseat?

Would the Infinity Basslink T fit under there?

Tomorrow is the big day, when I will pick up my new car, can't wait

Just got home from Espoo with my new car

It is just fantastic, very nice to drive and all...

Only bad thing is that the winter tires are very loud. I got Nokian Hakkapeliitta 4. I had them on my Volvo V50, but I think on the Civic they are even louder.

But we have so much snow here in the middle of Finland that I need real snow tires...

And the sound from the stereo was suprisingly good, but will soon order the Infinity speakers and also some small sub.

I am going to install the Connects2 adapter also, as soon I find a company that does car stereo installs here in middle of Finland.

Tomorrow I will drive the 97 kilometres to my work for the first time, sure it will be a fun drive

So did anyone else install any small sub, besides Roger Harris?

I would be tempted to install the Infinity Basslink T, but not sure if it will fit under the passanger seat.

Well will see what I will buy

Headache !!!

Today I drived first time to work with my new car (200 km total), and the noise from the tires was so loud that I got a headache !!!

Do you guys think there is something wrong with the sound isolation of the car or should I ask the dealer for some other brand tires?

Is it possible to exchange usually for new tires after 500 km total drive?

When I testdrive the Civic EX in august, it was so silent...

If the tirenoise is this loud all the time with wintertires, then I don't know if I can keep the car

Here is a link to the tires I have now: http://www.nokiantyres.com/passenger...AKKAPELIITTA+4

I had the same tires in my Volvo V50 and they were not even close in the tirenoise as on the Civic.

A friend recommended to buy these tires: http://www.nokiantyres.com/passenger...KAPELIITTA+RSi

But I have no experience in this types of tires, and don´t know if they are as safe as regular winter tires?

In test the Continental ContiWinterViking 2 have succeeded good and should be silent.

What wintertires are you using?

Apart from the tires I love the car

PS.I will post this also on the tires section, if someone there can answer to my problems...

I contacted the dealer and they agreed to switch the winter tires to friction tires for no extra cost. They are Nokia Rsi.

I did a testdrive in a friends car that had the Nokia Rsi tires and they were so quiet.

Next week I will get the friction tires.

So now I am totally happy with my new Civic
