Unhappy Duel Climate Control Broken

Hi All!

On my 06 reg Civic 2.2ctdi the button for the Duel climate control is refusing to respond, the passenger temp button dont work either and the voice control just beeps as in an error.

Everything else work ok with no issues!
Has anyone else had this? As local garage want 55quid to just diagnose the problem, where as if anyone on here knows what it is i can prob fix it! but dont wanna rip the dash out for something the dealer will have to replace!
I was thinking a fuse, but none of the one in either box has blown, so i figured poss a realy..all working!

Anyone got any ideas? i'm running out rapidly!
cheers!

Hi,

Just something to consider.

Have you got the Window Demist button pressed in ? If som Duel won't work.

Try pressing the "Auto" button and then trying the duel control button.

This is the only simple thing I can think might be causing it.

Kind Regards
Darren

yeah tried that..all combinations of buttons. its in the dealers tomorrow so gonna see what they say, i'm sure i cant be the only person who has had problems!
I'm wondering if its the Air con gas...i think it might need regassing and wondering of the computer knows that it cant do the temp difference between the the two so it switches it off.
in all honesty its a bit of a head f**k! i've been chasing wires and all ok, no fuses blown, no relays broken, and the computer checks out ok!

i bet its something really simple that i have missed thou!

We had the same issue on our 06 and it turned out to be an ECU issue of some sort. Also manifested itself as random behaviour of folding mirrors. Unit replace - all is well. This was done under warrenty though, just after we brought the car, so I cant tell you how much the offending unit was....

back from dealers, they can fix by replacing ECU...about 900 for the work...i think for a temp difference of 5 degrees between me and my passengers, i'll save the money. all other air con controls works and car still works as a single zone and considering i'm usually the only one in it, i could spend the money on snowboarding for a week!

Thanks for your helps thou!

I might have the unit off and test it myself at work, its prob something really simple, but easier for dealer to replace the unit rather than fix it.

will let you know my findings!
