Erratic Cruise Control

I tried to engage my CC last night, cruising along around 40MPH, pressed the switch on the steering wheel, light comes on the dash to say it's active. Then pressed the set button and the CC simply will not set at any speed.

Thoughts/ideas what to check?

Take your foot completely off the clutch pedal

I had the very same problem http://www.civinfo.com/forum/electro...e-control.html

Chiiled, my cruise control is the same, stopped working after I changed the intake on my car for some reason (but I wont be telling the garage that lol), car is due in for a service now anyday so will get it looked at then. I think it may be just the case of turning off an error code type thing logged in the cars computer somewhere to get it working again.

de-accelerate sets it to current speed if not already set
accelerate reset it to a previous speed if CC has been previously cancelled

Sure it was at 40 mph ? - at low speeds, you can't set CC at all ...

You can set CC at 30mph or over. Does the Cruise light come on along with Cruise Main after you try to set it?

I believe its around 29MPH and higher it can be set.... Just under the threshold for the speed cameras!!!

You can't set the CC anything below 28MPH...and, as NoNumpty suggested above, it really does help to completely remove your foot from the clutch pedal :/ Transpires even "looking" at my clutch pedal is enough to cancel the CC.

Drove to Cardiff this evening to collect a laser and some other bobs and bits, sure enough, left foot on the rest, turn CC on, set speed, off she went like a dream!

Cheers

I have an issue too but but found out what it was. My clutch pedal doesnt always come right up and after lifting the clutch with my foot by an inch, I could then set the CC. Im due a service so will mention it then.
