I have the smaller IQ version, I think the only difference being it has a smaller screen. It's great!

Just make sure you hook it up to your computer within 30 days to get the latest map update free.

Map share and IQ routes are great and it's a great sat-nav on the whole.

The smaller IQ version is the ONE IQ Version?

Good to hear you have a good experience with it. Does it calculate map distances when you are driving and re-route you to different less heavy traffic roads?

Yes I have Tomtom ONE IQ routes edition.

It will route you however you set it, I find setting quickest route will be the best option for avoiding hotspots, but selecting shortest will only take you the shortest distance in miles/KM's, not always shortest in time.

Real live traffic updates are available by radio transmission and suscription to TMC but mine isn't equipped with this, not sure if the XL is?

It is a very good piece of kit, POI (point of interest) is useful and will take you to the nearest petrol station or restaurant etc.

Yeah I do not want the subscription one, cause I won't be using it everyday. The thing I look for the most is quickest route and speed cameras if available. Do not need live traffic i guess

It will be perfect for you then, it warns of speed cameras and also warning signs too. And it informs you of the speed limit and your current speed.

Go for it
