Parrot fitting at Halfords

Im just doing some surfing whilst doing the night shift and Ive noticed that Halfords do free installation of the MKi9200 if you get it fitted in store. Obviously this sounds good but Im not sure If I wanna let some spotty idiot with a screwdriver loose on my car and then they go .
Has anyone else had their Parrots/hands free devices fitted at Halfords? If so where they any good?

Nope, refused to do it because the Civic wasn't on their approved list

Ended up fitting it myself, wasn't that bad actually

I think it depends on certain Halford branches...

I have been told they can just refuse you if they want to.

I brang my car to get help on a sub and amp install and the guy wouldnt touch it. Why? He was too lazy and couldnt have been bothered

I'm looking at the Incarsolutions lot who are part of the Carphonewarehouse as they do a mobile service including all leads for 219 fitted.

If they did it before they wont soon! Bad times at H all audio specialists being made redundant along with deputy managers and bike specialists being replaced by 2 sales managers on lower max salary . And full time staff (sorry colleagues!) having salary reduced to NMW or redundancy! Guess where all the good ones are going?
I wouldnt let H do anything on any car anymore . Unfortunately its going to be a return to the dark days only worse for us customers.

Seeing I was accused of lying when I enquired about the unika attachment for it (for steering wheel controls) and that such a thing couldn't possibly exist, I kinda gave up on letting them touch my car.
They weren't in the least bit interested in helping.

Halfords fitted my handsfree in my old car, the chap who fitted it cut quite a few loom leads and guess what ... he fitted it wrong. Problem is he cut the loom leads so short they couldnt be reattached! I had Inchcape Honda Fit my MKi9200 in my Civic and guess what they messed that up twice also! Nightmare! In the end I corrected it myself having then read the instructions I wish I just done it myself in the end. The Mki9200 is a really nice piece of kit.

That is worrying, I didn't need to cut anything to install the MKi9200 in my car?

i was tempted to get it done by Halfords, but when i purchased the car i spoke to the dealer, Rhyland Honda in cardiff and he got a guy to fit the kit, fair enough it cost me 50 more but i thought this guy has done a civic before so knows what hes doing. Issue i have now is that the car is 3 months old, drives like a dream but the rattles in the dash are bursting my nut. Its in today for the third time and all the dealership keeps saying is...."its the parrott".... purchased from Cardiff but its now in the Glasgow dealership. If you dont have a rattly dash you should think strongly about it because when they remove the dash you might end up with the rattles, total nightmare. On an optimistic note tho, the kit is good. Sometimes flakey on connection with an Iphone but they have released a new update to 'solve' these issues. all seems good just now.

I used to work at Halfords about 9 years ago and I never recieved a single piece of training. The audio specialists back then were just people who had upgraded their own ICE and fancied a job there! Maybe things have changed since then but poor wages and no training doesnt make for a productive employee!

I had it done a few months ago by Carphone warehouse. Excellent service and they come out to your house. Plus its covered by a 12 month warranty, any issues and they come out and fix it.

Hi all, I had mine fitted by Norton Way Honda for 225 all inclusive. Originally they wanted 250 to supply and fit the unit, but when I said I could get it fitted at Halfords for 189 all in they dropped the price. They offered to fit it for 45 ish if I supplied the unit myself. Felt much better that a Honda tech did the job rather than Halfords....

Yip, I second that, one of my mates got his stereo fitted at the local Halfords, they ended up cutting wires which there was no point in doing, as there are adapter plugs for this, so I definetly wouldnt let them fit a Parrot Kit.

I fitted mine myself, following some guides from the Wiki pages on this site.
Really simple job, and ithe parrot is fitted with adaptor leads inline with the Honda stereo wiring loom, no cutting or soldering required.
