Tow bar electrics.

Hi, does anyone know if the civic has a simple plug in for tow bar electrics? If so which side is it on? Bought a simple canbus breaker box
to fit into the line.
Cheers.
Nick.

I don't know what type of fitting but I do know it's on the drivers side!

Fitted the towbar yesterday, the tow bar was the easy part, the stripping out of the rear side panels were a nightmare, you literally have to strip everything off just to get to the wiring loom, did'nt find a plug for towing harness just cut into rear cluster looms straight to the towing socket, also used an in-line buzzer for the indicators, everything works superbly.

Thanks for the picture. I have a few questions though
  • did you use a 7-way bypass relay? If so where did you mount it
  • did you wire to the passenger side rear light as well?

The towbar was fitted to the car by the dealer when we bought it. I took the panel off to fit reversing sensors. All the wiring is on the drivers side, the feed for both side lights is taken from the same feed.

Can you check where the yellow wire for the fog light is going, it looks like it's going to a connector with a blue/yellow wire into it.
I have wired to that, but it does not seem to make the fog light work. Do you have a close up of that area please?

Also, how did you manage to wire in the left indicators from wiring into the right side only? I ended up chasing the wire to LH side behind the trim/light cluster for that wire?

Update this morning

Armed with a volt meter and the picture from Dervman i went and attacked the fog light again. Sure enough it worked. Circuit from fog light to yellow wire by the plug fine, wiring of loom to trailer block fine, trailer fine.

The problem turned out to be some corrosion on the bulb holder !!! How irritating.

All wired up and working now, just got to put back together.
