Hands Free Telephone Help.

Hi All,
I'm new to this site so hoping you can help. I bought a Civic 1.8 Type S 07 a few days ago (very exciting) and it has the SatNav and HFT inbuilt.

The guy paired my phone to it and on the demo had it working, but now I have it all to myself I can't figure it out.

I've read the instructions but I just don't understand.

I press the telephone button and it bleeps twice, I say dial and sometimes it asks for a number, and when I say it nothing else happens. Is there something else you are supposed to say?

Please help.

I think you need to press the button again before saying the number

Dalboy is correct. I have the HFT system in mine too. Before saying anything you need to press the button on the steering wheel. That puts it into listening mode to hear the next request. Hope this helps

OK that kind of makes sense. So I press the button, wait for 2 bleeps, say call, press button, say number, press button...? then call?

Will that work?

Dunno if this helps, but just how I use my HFT: I store my common numbers with nametags in the system. To call:

1) Push the input button, wait for one beep,
2) Then say "call home" (home being my tag).. it thinks a while then
3) confirms "do you want to call home?"
4) push the input button say "yes"
