A\C full automatic ? ...

Air Con Auto "quirk" ...

Ever since I bought my Civic (new - in 2007) the A\C has always defaulted to 22C when in full automatic mode ...

Earlier today, driving away from the house, I saw it was on 21C and has defaulted to that ever since, despite me turning the ignition off and on again several times (I was on a shopping trip) ...

Now, 1 degree doesn't wory me in itself, but I wonder if this is a sign of some other A\C issue ...

Anyone else had this - anyone heard of this before ? ...

JDR, tell it to go to full automatic via voice control and see if it goes back to 22ºC.

Cheers,

Bob...

Don't you ever change the temperature ? Auto comes up with whatever the temperature is set to when you switch off. I guess you inadvertently changed the temp.

No, when set to full automatic it should default to 22ºC

Try it, set it to 23, press off, switch off, switch on, press Auto, you get 23, yes.

Yes, agree with you, however, if you say via the voice control "climate control - full automatic" I'm sure it should then default back to 22...

Yeeppp - I thought that as well ...

"Auto" just runs the A\C automatically, at whatever temperature was last selected - "Full Auto" runs the A\C automatically, at the default temperature (for those with voice-activated controls) ...

I'll try again tomorrow - set temperature to 25C, press 'Auto' - then use the voice command "Climate Control, Full Automatic" - we'll see !!! ...

Just tested, and guess what - it does this...
If you just say "CC Automatic" it just leaves the temp on whatever it is set to, but if you give the command "CC Full Automatic" it set the temp automatically to 22°C....Just like magic, never noticed this before...

Nope - all you can do is manually adjust the temperature setting, then press the "auto" button ...

After reading this thread I had to see for myself.

SO just returned form the garage and had a chat with Doris in the Dash.
I manually turned down CC down to 19 deg, then had that little chat with Doris and TOLD her "CC full Automatic". It went straight to 22 deg.

I've never checked on the new one but I know my old Mar 2007 Civic used to default to 23°C via the CC Full Auto voice command.

I always thought 23 was a bit too hot so 22 is better but I prefer 21
