Unhappy Interior fan, tempterature & back window demist dead

So I popped to the shops in my 2.2 yesterday.

Was warm so I fired up the aircon for the first time since 2017.

Didn't blow cold air so thought just needs recharging.

Got to the shops. Came back out.

Noticed the temp indicator was blank/no reading.

Also all the fan/heater controls & back window demister are all dead. Nothing.

Checked the fuses under the bonnet. Both are good.

Any ideas?

Sounds like there is a blown fuse somewhere for all to not work... As for the AC, too many people switch it off for months till really hot weather kicks in, doing this drys out the seals and the gas escapes. I run my climate control all year round at 21C and when it's cold, it heats the car and when it's roasting it cools it... On my 9G 1.6 I'm still averaging over 70mpg +

Why wouldn't you leave it on all the time?
When it is cold and your windows mist up, they demist one hell of a lot quicker using the dry air recirculated from the A/C by the climate control rather than all that lovely damp air from outside or inside the car.
In my experience it makes no difference to MPG, but then again I don't particularly watch my consumption. I just drive it and fill it up when it gets towards empty.
I've got more important thimngs in life to be concerned about. Like typing silly answers on forums.

I hear so many people say that running with climate ontrol on all the time uses oodles of Fuel, bollarks to that, not as much a saving as having your gubbed AC fixed....

Thanks so much - my fan, wing mirros and outside temperature display failed last week. Garage said it was the BCM but it was, in fact, Fuse 36! Well done, you have saved me a fortune
