The climate control in our 2009 civic seems to be over cooling!

It's blowing chilled air until turned up to around 26c at which point the air is merely cool up to 28c.

One notch above 28c is Hi, at which point it starts heating the cabin and the fan goes from low speed to flat out.

Going the other way, the fan speed starts spooling up and chilling hard below 22c, whereas previously I would find it comfortable between 19-22c in hot weather.

I'm guessing the system is not detecting, or incorrectly reading the cabin air temperature. There is a small grill on the dash to the left of the steering column, is this where it samples the cabin air temperature? I have an Iveco Daily with climate control and that has a small grill with an ickle fan to sample the air temp in the cab.

The only work the car has had recently is a new windscreen...

That's the temp grill, yes.

Check the pipe is firmly attached behind it, a known issue if that panel has been removed for any reason.

It's not easy to get to and be careful you don't dislodge it.
