Factory sat nav retrofit help

hi

i know this is a massive job but im looking for some help and advice from people that have done this , dont really want to take complete dash out but would prefer to fit full dash loom. how easy does the dash come out. have looked at the workshop manual and it looks like you have to remove half the car to do it. im not averse to it as im pretty good with spanners but dont want to take stuff out i dont need too. i know there is the option of trimming the radio parts out of the dash loom but not sure on that one .

thanks in advance
John

i just would lie to add, that there are 2 versions of the loom/sat nav system, one is pre-facelift one and another one is facelift one.. so it depends on your car.
