Keyfob stopped working fn2

Keyfob suddenly stopped working just now

Dug spare fob also not working. Tried new batteries and no luck. Tried new batteries in other fobs in household as few mk8 and work fine. Key unlocks car so little stumped.

Anyone any idea?

try squeezing the fob together
or
remove the inside part and press the buttons see if it works
the casings are **** and go loose making the inside buttons hard to trigger

Tried that and nothing. Lights on either fob not working. Imagine spare fob battery might have died anyway so hope that's just coincidence

if the light on the fob isn't lighting up then its a problem that end and not the car
try cleaning connections for battery

Oddly the fob started working this morning. Bought new battery and put in spare fob and got that working. Also tested on another fob and got that working. Odd how batteries gone in 3 fobs. Ordered another 2 duracell batteries

Guess all 3 prob have original batteries so potentially up to 12 year old so not done bad

Fingers crossed all good now
scaramanga and Farqui like this.
