Type S GT-T Sat Nav / Stereo upgrade

Hi guys

New to the forum here and wanted to get some help with upgrading the factory fitted Sat Nav & Stereo in my 2011 Type S GT-T

I would like to replace the outdated system with a newer after market stereo with Android mirroring etc and also fit a reversing camera if possible

The stereo is built into the centre console within what looks to be a Double Din size frame:

I am told (by local car audio services) that because it is a Sat Nav unit, replacing this with an after market head unit will not be as easy (as other Civic stereos) and therefore considerably more expensive

Has anyone else fitted an after market stereo to their centre console Sat Nav model?

Appreciate any help on this. Please do redirect me on the forum if necessary

Cheers

Dylan

AFAIK, the only way to upgrade the satnav stereo is to rip out the whole of the satnav unit (headunit, screen, connectors and CD drive in glove compartment), replace it with a non-satnav LCD dash display then use a steering wheel converter and double din mount to install a new Android headunit.
