Gremlin removed, it what is this?

So after months of having an electrical issue, Honda gave me a list of error codes which all pointed to the drivers door. So today I removed the door card and found something very aftermarket....
Each wire was spliced into the original wiring and there electrical tape everywhere so I removed it, connected the wiring as it should be from factory and now the gremlin is gone, but I am curious, what is it? Any ideas?

Could be a power fold mirror module that fold mirrors in or out when you open or lock the car

That's the bomb that triggers when you drop below 50mph; If it was throwing DTCs that would explain why it didn't go off.

Yea I think you are right.

Itís in the bin now and my electrics are working perfectly fine again. Such a relief as it cost me nought, just an hours work
