In dash GPS

Hi to all. I was thinking of changing the my Civic's (a 2.2 2006 model) headunit with a Double Din GPS. I read a few threads of people having made the change using an "impulse car" kit. I was wondering if anyone had an experience of installing such kit with a chinese made GPS unit. (such as those found on ebay).
