Car Charger for HTC Desire

So, my cheap in car Micro USB charger has died. So i'm in the market for a new one to charge my HTC Desire.

I like the sound of

HTC model - but I understand that it doesn't quite fit into the front cabin cigarette lighter socket. One of the reviews of the same item from a different seller, stated that the mod discussed in the "Changed ciggy lighter to one of these" thread on this Forum works.

Before I purchase one however, i wondered if anyone on here has used this actual model of HTC car charger, and can confirm it does indeed work, albeit with a bit of modification??

Thanks in advance,

I've just picked up a car charger for my HTC Desire from ebay this week. £1.99 and it works just fine. Didn't need to modify it or anything. I couldn't be bothered going for a HTC one after reports that they don't work all that well with the socket in the cabin.

I can give you the link if you like.

Don't get the CC200 - I bought one - kept losing contact (without being visible) - 'phone kept going dead ! ...

Get the CC100, which I currently use - excellent fit - and really good looking (has an illuminated blue HTC logo on top) ...

Cheapest place seems to be Amazon ...

Belkin compact USB socket (£6.49 from Halfords) and a standard micro USB to USB cable
You can leave the socket in place as it is about the size of the ciggie lighter plug
