alarm doesnt disable immobilisor?

i was testing my car alarm

i locked my car with the remote, opened car door manually with key , opened door and alarm set off . so i thought i could disable car alarm manually by inserting the key but to my suprise i could press the start button to start the engine but the alarm siren continued to blaring

now on my old 206 , if my alarm was set off , even if correct key was inserted it wouldnt start the starter motor .

is this correct on the civic.

Happened on both my Civic's so all is normal. On all other cars I've had, when the alarm is going off, inserting the correct key into the ignition generally disables the alarm and immediately allows the car to be started.

It does state in the manual that if you arm the car using the key fob (remote), then the only way of disabling it is with the remote again. If the key fob battery dies then you've had it! I ways carry a small screw driver and a spare battery in my car.
