HFT Pairing Issue

Alright I give up!! Been trying to pair my Sony Xperia Play up to the HFT in my 07 EX and it's just not working. I'm in the car, with just ignition on, hitting the phone talk button and saying pair, but it's just not pairing saying 'no phones detected' or whatever it says! My phone is set to discoverable and bluetooth is on. I've noticed as well that the phone is not seeing the HFT system to be able to pair that way. I've tried the brother in laws iphone with exactly the same results. Is there something I'm missing or does it sound like a faulty hft system? Is there anyway to set it up through any other (visual) menu? Do I have to enable bluetooth on the car somehow? Help!!

Thanks in advance!

sorted!

Well, I've spent a good hour or so going over the same thing again and again, got lots of strange looks from people in the street looking at me sitting in the car saying PAIR! (and a few swears) over and over again. All of a sudden, it started working, the phone saw the car, the car saw the phone, they looked each other in the eyes and paired!!! whoo hoo!!!

Hi,

I've still got mine to do, ain't round to do it yet....

Just wondering when it is paired, what is displayed on your phone as the bluetooth name for the car ?

And also did you try the iphone again, did it work? As i've got a iphone and finally can you pair more than one phone ??

Thanks.

I think the important point is to get both the car and the phone both in discovery mode at the same time.

If they are both searching together then it seems to work quite quickly.

when it finally did pick it up, it came up on the phone as Honda HFT. I've not tried the iPhone again, I'll need to see the brother in law to do that. According to the bluetooth instructions, you can pair more than one, but I think you have to have the already paired phones bluetooth off to do others.
