Satnav screen auto-on

Is there a way to disable the start-up check on the satnav where you have to press the enter button for loading to continue?

Yesterday, my wife was driving and she set off without pressing enter because she doesn't know any better. Shortly after I realised the screen was off and there was no way I could switch it back on. We had to stop the car and turn the ignition off and on.

+1

In fact pressing any button around the dial (Music, Climate, Menu, Map etc.) should turn the screen back on.

God help you, if your wife reads this.

Yeah it does, you can access anything but if you want satnav you need to accept the ''warning'' <----pointless

It's so bloody annoying. Why can't it just switch on like a normal car?

Just like the seatbelt alarm. Why can't it just activate at 5mph like every normal car? And not when I'm stationary!

Thanks for the replies, I will try it again but I pressed every button on the dash and the screen would not come back on.
