How easy is it to delete music files from the hard drive on the premium audio system ?

I can't remember how I did it but I cleared a load of files/albums off quite easily.

I thought it was a good idea to have music on the HDD until I realised that the album plays continuously instead of going to the next one, even in playlist mode !

Also difficult to select the next one without taking your eyes off the road = back to USB as that is far more controllable

Probably to late but just cleared mine

audio button on left hand of unit, then audio menu icon bottom right of screen, then edit/delete icon, from here you can change track name, delete a track or delete the entire album(s)

Agree with Kremmen, not very user friendly, buttons are not very sensitive and you end up taking your eyes of the road to change album, have also noticed that Gracenote is hit and miss and often cannot display the album or track names when storing to the HDD, I ended up with a load of albums with no names, had to scroll through to listen to each one to decide if its the one I wanted, never got around to editing as I would needed to have added every track name manually - bit of a waste really - USB ended up being used. Asked Honda if they could ensure I had the latest version, they wanted to charge me for checking and uploading but also commented it could simply be the CD that was not compatible with the system !!

Glad it's not just me that has issues with the HDD. I've produced a few successful Gracenote update CD's but that is hit and miss.

Got to be USB

However, I'll be interested to see what the new MY15 unit is like.

From what I've seen on the web, I'm not overly excited about the new Android version. It does look visually better and will be a big step up over the std. HU. However, I still think the HDD system is very good and I'm very happy with it.

I think the HDD would further improved if it had the following...
  • Allow MP3's to be imported to HDD
  • HDMI input (Like the new Android unit's)
  • Faster processor (Touch screen is ok, the lag is the system)
  • Updated 3D graphics for maps (Can be done because same unit is available in Japan with 3D maps)
  • AV out port, so that the DVDs can be played on rear screens (even while main screen is blank - again, I think Japanese units do this)

Otherwise, it's a great unit even is it is based on win CE lol. I've seen in other cars systems that look asthetically nice and modern, but lack functioality... I fear the Andriod unit will be one of them.

In car-tech could be a big USP for Honda if they get their finger out! Ford have worked it out.
