How to remove tweeter from it's frame?

Hello,

Finally I'll change genuine speakers to JBL's.

Can you help me how to remove tweeter from it's plastic frame?

Thank you in advance!

Hi ,

Can I ask are you replacing both Door speakers with JBL's ?

If so which models and can you let us know if it was worth it

So tempted to do this, but I am not too practical and what I didn't want to do would be to swap out the speakers & then find that I needed an Amp. and/or another head unit (way out of my league)

Its quality rather than volume I am interested in though

Hope the install goes well

Yes,

I bought JBL GTO 609C speakers 1-2 months ago. Now when I have all necessary door adapters and enough knowledge about what is going where, just need to get few hours of spare time, to install them.

Last year I replaced genuine central unit with Pioneer AVH-X8700BT, so I will share my experience when everything is done

out of interest, are you upgrading the standard or premium audio setup?
i'm tempted to do mid&tweeter replacement on my premium audio 9CTR but quite decide if it'll be worth it.

I'm keeping an eye on the thread for updates....

I'm upgrading standard audio unit, like on this Civic here:

https://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/c...psb212cc2b.jpg (Civic on picture is not mine, it's just image I found on internet).

With Pionner audio unit sound is already much better, probably because audio is flat on standard audio unit.

Also, I have several posts on this forum about my experience with integrating double din, you can search for them
