Poor HDD SatNav

Just about to embark on my first trip abroad driving - only to France but still its the wrong side of the road!!

Luckily I decided to input the hotel destination well before the trip start - the road the hotel is on is nowwhere to be seen yet a work colleagues's old Tomtom recognises it fine.

This is so poor - I have a brand spanking new inbuilt satnav yet will be taking an old Tomtom to direct me

Not impressed one bit!

I'm in France at the moment and can confirm that the maps are far from up to date.

I appreciate that the units are pre loaded so that they are probably out of date as soon as they are fitted, but some of the roads here have been open nearly 2 years!

Surely with a hard drive it must be easier to upload a recent set of maps at the dealers, prior to handing over to the buyer?

Be thankful for what you have.....

New Hyundai I40 satnav doesn't even allow for postcode searching

Garage
So does anyone have any information on whether there is a HDD Sat Nav update available? If so, how much is it likely to cost?
