I think you may get a little more induction noise, but i think genuinely you'll get no performance increase, i just use genuine honda filter and be done with!

the trouble with third party air filters is they don't seal around the housing properly and can cause an induction drone
iv'e experienced this first hand with a 3rd party filter, the cure is to take the rubber seal off your original air filter and put it on the new filter which is what i did rather than replacing with an OEM filter
since then i just buy OEM filters and have done with it knowing there going to be right with no messing around

imo K&N's just stop you replacing with a new one every year at 20-odd each time. cheaper in the long run if your really that hard up for a few rounds of pop a year. just the hassle of cleaning the K&N & buying cleaning fluid vs a straight swap with OEM.
being free flowing, they filter less but still well within acceptable tolerances. not like the UK is an extremely dusty country like some parts of the world are.

as someone with K&N on his 9gen, no negative effects other than increased intake & turbo noises - no drone or whatnot.

I don't think the K&N panel filters offer any performance improvement over the OEM Honda ones. Probably just a reduction in filtration to be honest.
