Replacement Clutch/DMF quote

Hi All,

I've had a quote back from Honda to replace my 2.2 clutch and DMF (if required), they want £1774 inc VAT , Labour alone is £665 (7hrs at £95 hr). Seems a bit steep to me. Are there any other less costly options?

Cheers

Steve

id say contact a few dealers ask for quote for clutch then ask for quote for both
the problem with quotes is they don't bundle the labour charge for doing both at same time
I contacted my local dealer a few years back and cost was well under a grand and even cheaper if I went for non genuine parts but made by same manufactures
only difference was they would not give the honda warranty if I went for non genuine parts

Honda Hq in Cannock West Mids is around £800 mark inc parts and labour. Top blokes and highly recommended. Lads travel a couple of hrs each way just to use them.

Cheers guys, cheapest I can get a Clutch DMF from 3 different Honda Dealers (including Cannock) was £1500, seems prices have gone up a bit since I last got a quote?

I'm not 100% sure I need a DMF? I don't know if the fact that I've left the clutch slip a number of years has a bearing?

Yes it's remapped, it's not overly slipping, only if I really rag it, it's just not very nice to drive with some judder and a narrow biting point..

Not sure what to do as the cars only worth a "bag 'a sand"!

Honda Hq in Cannock is not a dealer but independent specialist. They charge around £800 for parts and labour. You can google them and see the 5* reviews.

if your any where around the north west there is a indi honda specialist who supplies and fits for £900

Phoenix Close Honda Specialists | Based in Heywood, Manchester

might be worth giving Chris a call and see what he can do for you

if he quotes more tell him you know someone ( me, Mark ) who recommended Phoenix and you charged 900 quid for the job a couple of months ago

worth a shout

Getting that performance clutch kit, be prepared to continue the 'not very nice to drive with judder and a narrow biting point'

He'll be better off with a proper DMF and clutch Mr @Farqui .

Point taken @hondacivicnut

I offered the performance clutch as an option because the OP's car is mapped and it's cheaper than his OEM quotes.

I've not experienced this performance clutch so cannot attest to it's feel or performance.

I offered the performance clutch as an option because the OP's car is mapped and the beefy clutch is cheaper (with fitting) than his OEM quotes.

I've not experienced this particular performance clutch, so I cannot attest to it's feel or performance.
