Exclamation 2.2 Engine Swap

I'm looking at doing an engine swap on my 2006 2.2 diesel. (ran dry )

Which years are compatible with a 2006?

As it will be basically the block/sump/head I dont expect there to be any issues with sensors.

Could anyone confirm if there are limits/years and if my assumption is right or not?

Thanks

Thanks guys - struggling to get a motor that's not silly money and or with a decent warranty.

Pref is a now a recon motor but only firm I've found with one in stock charge 2.1k only give a 3 mth warranty and dont take credit card......

Anyone know a decent recon engine supplier - it'll be mail order so distance isnt an issue.

Ford offered me 3100 for my 123,000 mile 2006 i-CDTI sport in part exchange today. Find another grand and you could have a whole car with the engine, uprated brakes and new 8 paddle clutch with SMF!
