Daves new Alabastar Silver Civic TypeR

Hi all. Well, I decided to trade up my Civic TypeS gt after a year and a half for a CTR gt. The CTS was a great car, and loved it to bits, but I've just got too many cars to try and keep on top of so something had to give.
As some will know, I also own an immaculate Civic Aerodeck (MC1) which was my late wifes car, and the plan was to carry on her plan of turning it into a show car (I own/run civic5.com for the Honda Civic MA/MB/MC's). But I also own a Civic VTi (MB6) and up until last week, the Civic TypeS. The VTi was basically just the weekend toy, which has been modified by me with stainless exhaust, meisterR suspension etc, so a fun car to blast about. The TypeS was my daily driver.
So, with insurance/tax/mot/servicing and general modding to keep up with, I decided enough was enough! Time to cut back! Trouble was, I couldnt make up my mind what to sell! The deck was staying no matter what, so it was a choice between the vti and the CTS. I loved the power of the MB6, but loved the creature comforts of the FN1, and after thinking about it, didnt fancy going back to driving the MB6 on a daily basis. But I needed the power!!! So after a lot of sleepless nights, my girlfriend said "ok, why not sell both and get a TypeR?" (she's also a bit of a petrol head!) It made perfect sense! Got all the creature comforts that I loved in the FN1 for daily duties, but the power was there when ever I wanted to play!
So Mb6 is currently being prepped for sale, and I traded in the FN1 last Wednesday for a stunning FN2 in alabaster silver.

So, a bit about the car. Shes a 2008 model (so slightly older than the FN1) with just 42.000 miles under her belt. Full Honda History, 1 owner from new (a doctor) and is in nice condition, with just a couple of stone chips on the bonnet I want to get fixed. She also has the optional rage alloys fitted, which is what drew me to her in the first place.

So the modding started! I couldn't live with the standard stereo, so decided to fit my Pioneer DAB/USB/SATNAV head unit that I had fitted to the FN1. One thing that confused me though. The standard stereo had "Aux" button on it, but when I looked in the centre console, there arent any sockets (USB, 3.5 jack, 12v power socket) like the FN1 had? I thought they all had these sockets in them, and seems a bit weird to have the button on the head unit for them but nowhere to plug anything in! Anyhoo, out it came, and got thenew one fitted up with the loom kit I bought from a trader on here last year, so all the steering controls still work etc. Also got the Nav unit nicely tucked away.

That's all I've done so far, but do have some plans for her. Wont be any engine mods as she has plenty enough power for me, and needs to be sensible for daily duties. But here's what I have planned...

Wind deflectors
Uprated bulbs (Osram night breakers headlights, smd sidelights)
Mud flaps (not sure whether to order up OEM ones or go for the rally flaps in black?)
Red suede gear stick gaitor
Induction kit (not sure on make yet, quite like HKS but will see what folks on here recommend)
Windows tinted (very light smoke)

Much later on, I might get the full rep Mugen kit, Get the seats custom retrimmed in leather by transcal, with door cards to match. Will still be black and red theme inside, but just prefer the leather. Will also be getting the heater elements fitted to the seats when this is being done, and will look out for OEM heated seat switches for this.
Seriously thinking about MeisterR Zeta S suspension again too, as I think this could maybe soften up the ride a tad with it being adjustable?

Anyways, here's a few pics. Hope you like!

Very nice indeed.
Looks understated in Alabaster Silver, and proper classy.

Looking good!

A cheap but effective mod would be to paint the brake calipers. Red looks good with silver IMO.

I've got the Pioneer AVH-X3500DAB. Bought the Satnav unit from Pioneer too for this model. Sound is amazing even through the standard speakers, and the amount of things it can do is amazing! Deffo recommend one!

That's the unit I was looking at. Where do you plug the satnav unit into as I was going to buy this kit for my iPhone 5

Plus did you have to buy a different cage 103mm for the unit to fit secure?

Thanks

Thanks Tezza! @fn2cub the dash conversion kit comes with everything mate. You get the dash panel (no cage required, has brakets that attach to the unit) the wiring loom for connecting up the steering wheel remote controls etc. I think the company on here is "hondabits"
Satnav wise, I thought this head unit had built in satnav, but you have to pay an additional 300 odd quid for this small little box that is actually the satnav, which connects to the rear of the head unit through a dedicated port on it. It works superbly! The satnav unit maps are all containg on an SD card, so easy to just take out the card, plug it into your pc/laptop and upfate them
Hope this helps
