dans sensible civic

Hi everyone, just my project thread here. Im really loving the car, as my first diesel its really impressed me. Originally it was just going to be a tool for a year on the motorway but its quickly grown on me !
My last car was the tasty mazdaspeed rx8 you see below but due to my 140 mile uni commute next year it would just be cruel to my wallet and the car to put it through it especially at 18mpg on v power lol

the time came for something a little more sensible so have already had a play in a type r decided on a civic diesel for looks and economy.

as soon as i spotted the gp kit on it i knew i wanted it but when i saw the reg it sealed the deal ( slob ) the body kit.....its a bit of a patchwork quilt but that will be sorted at a later date.

very sensible and standard..............which didnt last long
First thing i changed was the rear light, i managed to pick up pretty much the whole rear end of a type r for 120 so sold the rest on but kept the light for myself

next was the wheels. I found some JR3 with some decent tyres on flea bay so snapped them up and after some custom spigot rings they were on and looking fine

you can really see the colour difference in that pic :s
Also added a cheeky red badge to the grill so it matched the back

thats pretty much how she sits for now.
Ive got a few spare type r spoiler in the garage and a seeker style lip for one has already been ordered.
Plans are spray that gloss black and do the rear diffuser and front splitter at the same time sometime in august then the only other thing i fancy is a mugen grill but that will be when one pops up
Plans for the future are bbk, ive been reading somewhere about a dc5, 350z, s2000 mutant hybrid settup which looks funky. After that i will start thinking about power......already priced up a beefy clutch and a stage 2 from Celtic. plan will be to wait til my current one dies then dive into the deep end! Comments or criticism welcome , looking forward to getting to my first civic meet sometime soon hopefully !

this car is slowly turning into a money pit.......loving every second of it !
lots of new things and even more on order lol
these arrived the other week

out with the old

in with the new

decided that having yellow stuff it was acceptable to paid all the callipers yellow.....

also had a new fuel filter, set of glow plugs and gearbox oil change, got everything from cox motorparts ( very happy with the service )
Got back from fitting it all and my mud flaps had arrive so i went about fitting them....i can honestly say it was more difficult that the fuel filter but well worth it

ive also ordered a few carbon bits for inside, a double din and fitting kit, new battery and the upgraded earthing kit. running out of mods now haha

yet again ive done lots of things in 1 go......
First up was the double din fitting which was....interesting but its done now and very happy with the results the interior is massively improved. also stuck in a short shifter for fun while i was messing in the area :P

new battery, yellow earthing kit and an omp strut brace followed.
the battery and the earthing kit made an instant difference along with the strut. The omp gives loads of clearance so it doesnt rattle like my ultra racing one did, id highly recommend it !

next it was time for some serious stuff......found a set of tein flex with all the edfc kit ( little motors that adjust how hard the dampeners are at the push of a button ) going cheap on ebay so i stuck a bid in a it was mine

at about the same time the clutch started slipping so i decided to remap it ! after a bit of head scratching and after speaking to Fahad i went for the premier stage 1 with egr off and blanked. obviously it would only make the clutch slip more but a genuine honda one from cox was already on its way so......yeah :P
excuse the dirt lol

while the clutch was being changed the coilovers were fitted along with new drop links

i do have tread for those who are wondering its just on the outer side of the tyre :P

i then went about carbon wrapping the door sills, plasti dipping the mirrors and trying on some ep3 alloys which im not too keen on .....

next up is coilover socks, red type r dials fitted, genuine mugen gear nob ( awaiting delivery ) possibly type r interior...still thinking about it
