The EP3 was a very good car, in some ways superior to the current CTR.

Ok, three to start you off.

1. It was a more focussed car, i.e. no frills, just out and out performance.
2. Far superior suspension setup.
3. Better build quality.

1. identical performance, and less frills equals better?
2. Independent rear suspension yes, better handling no!
3. Agree , you have got me there

4. Standard alloys were a much smarter design.

Just my opinion though, I'm sure just as many will say otherwise!

(Mind you, they'll be wrong of course!)

I had my ep3 for 6 years from a 52 plate and it was superb.

I will give my fn2 longer before comparing.

Can't argue with that, will be interesting to hear your opinion when the time comes.

1. Doesn't necessarily make it superior
2. IRS didn't give it a better ride or handling IMO
3. Was so basic inside that to be honest there wasn't much to get wrong.

The FN2 is much easier to live with on a daily basis and yet performance hasn't been compromised so that makes it a better car for me.

I agree with Ashley "I prefer the FN2 but still love the EP3"

that is 100% spot on,

1. the EP3 was more raw than the new FN2 hence no frills just performance i.e lighter and quicker than the FN2 which only got 1bhp more
2. Correct and this does handle better than the FN2 anyone who says different is dreaming
3. very correct as this was not rushed out into production

but please note both cars are aimed at a market and the FN2 is aimed at a more relaxed middle aged person who wants the looks, performance and comfort. their may not be much in it but the EP3 is lighter so hence a little quicker and better handling and that is FACT

Look what you have started Ashley

By a little quicker, how little are we actually talking? Little as in, not even noticeable in the real world? Yep, you would be correct.

The FN2 has better handling and that is FACT. Not dreaming . Documented by people who have actually owned both cars..

I owned an EP3 for 3 years and have had my FN2 for just over a year and i haven't noticed a difference. The EP3 was a bit more go kart like so always felt faster than it was.
Vtec is available at slightly lower revs so i always feel like i hit 'warp' speed much quicker in this one

Rick mate, your EP3 was nice as I said but what are you basing all of this on?

Have you owned an FN2?
