Type S ebay bargains

This is the type S diesel I had off ebay. Came with suprisingly few issues considering the price and milage of 130K the droplinks needed changing and the bonnet sensor for the alarm needed disconnecting but so far so good.... Fingers crossed. If I could find the rear lip spiler and a front fog lamp kit I'd be even happier though.

It got it for 2100. fair price all things considered. Seems the 2 door ones seem to go for a bit more than the 4 doors.

Good price,

Front fog light kit: GENUINE HONDA CIVIC FRONT FOG LIGHT KIT 2006 | eBay

Don't come on here too much though, you'll end up with a whole list of mods to take your money!

240 quid? I may leave that till winter. Did get the roll bar links changed today and must admit it seems like a new car now. No knocking and handles much better.

Looks like you got yourself a bargain, car looks in really good condition. Any other issues apart from those mentioned?

No none whatsoever. Its really solid and in fantastic condition. The day I got it the droplinks were loose and the knocking over bumps, turned out they had never been changed in the life of the car. Got a pair for 20 quid and cost 20 quid to have them fitted. I had 4 wheel alignment done on it and that was 50 quid. changed the oil and filters and it ran even more economically than it did before. So far I can't fault it. Sailed through its MOT with no advisories, so far so good.
Decided to splurge on a set of continental 5 runflats for it as it doesn't seem to have a spare wheel just some puncture repair kit. Thats all the spending its going to have this year. Bought it as a run around car and seem to have got a lucky buy. I just wish it was in Black or that metallic sky blue colour. Our last 4 cars have been silver now

I quite like it as it is, at least for now. Fog lamps for winter and that rear lip spoiler would be the only mods. I like the way the perspex front looks actually, very unique. They loose something when you add the mesh grille I always thought.

I'm with you there - I like the Perspex silver front - it's a distinguishing feature and I've never really understood why people want to change to a grille...

Nice car mate,

I have to concur however that this forum is a way to ruin your bank balance.... Haha my car was a standard type S when I bought her and now after every type R thing (apart from engine and brake callipers) she looks completely different and so does my bank balance haha

But at the price you got your little car from it's a steal and a good 5k less than I paid for mine - good fine, she'll serve you well my friend.

Don't know why we always say 'she' when referring to our cars.... Wonder is girls say 'he' lol

That's the word I was looking for. Distinguishing. I like the weirdness of the styling of the car and the proportions, reminds me of the Honda CRX from the late 80's and early 90's. The design quirks like the triangular exhausts and stuff like that would be lost if you put wings and grills on it I think.
I'm not a huge Honda fanboy but I give them credit for the MK8 civic type S, the Honda CRX and remember the MK3 Honda Accord?. I'm a sucker for distinctive cars. I'm more interested to see how much mileage i can get out of it trouble free nowadays...

Ive kept my perspex grill too I like the way it is, makes it more futuristic and im sure adds to the aerodynamics, that upgrade grill cant be adding mpg with all that air going in there.

I think the Perspex grille looks very dated now. It was the first thing to be changed on my type s. Together with the sports grille and type r 18" rims, I did notice a drop in MPG however, but worth it!
