Matte Black Satin Rage Wheels - Pictures

Hey Folks,

After having a fraught few months fighting with kirbs I decided to get the Rage Wheels refurbished but this time try something a little different. Gone for a matte black satin finish, leaving the centre caps and wheel nuts unpainted.

The work was carried out by John at TheWheelSpeciailist in East Kilbride. The chaps have done a fantastic job so I'm super pleased with them. Never been a fan of black wheels on red but I think with the splitters on the R it works quite well.

P.S You'll have to forgive how minging the car is ... I'll be machine polishing it later today so hopefully some better pics to be posted tomorrow!

TBH its still under consideration mate. The polished finish of the rage centre caps actually goes quite well with the matte finish. Bit difficult to capture on camera though. I'll give it a few days and see how I feel, can pick up a new set fairly cheaply.

looks fantastic mate.

If you do mind me asking, how much did it cost to do all 4 wheels? And how long it took them? My alloys need refurbed and I quite fancy them being coloured too

No problem mate, they were 258 all in. Cost, I think, is dependant on the size of the wheel as opposed the finish. Unless you are looking for something more tricky and outwith the norm (polished lip, diamond cut etc). They take roughly 3 hours to do. Left the car at 8am it was ready just before lunch! Cant fault the chaps at thewheelspecialist at all. Fantastic service and an excellent finish.

My main reason for the change was the diamond cut wheels where a nightmare to have any damange repaired on. Approx 120 + VAT and had to go down south for 5-10 days. With the Satin Matte Black, any probs can be rectified within a few hours for about 40. Ideal really.

I saw those mate - and its pretty much down to you having the balls to do it first that I went through with mine!

Had been mulling over it for ages but wasnt sure it would work ... then I saw your pics the other week and thought ... right that looks ace! So cheers and your wheels look top mate.
