Racing Stripes

I had a fair bit of gloss vinyl left over after i did my roof. After seeing the red FN2 on this thread http://www.civinfo.com/forum/type-r/...no-day-ii.html

I decided to have a bash myself. Now first things first. I cut these out with scissors in my not very well lit room, It really shows if you get too close but i was bored and thought i would see what it looked like.

I personally dont like it. I really think it would look better in a shade of silver a bit darker than the bonnet and cut out proffesionally. also i didnt use a heat gun when applying the vinyl to get a nice flow so instead they dont really follow the contours of the bonnet.

Rest assured i will be removing these shortly. Please excuse the dirty car. I had wanted to put pics of the roof up but didnt have time.

Good experiment but personally think it looks better with them off.

A good insight to what it'd look like, should anyone want to do it in future.

I'll admit its something I had thought about ofen (altho I had always thought more along the lines of a think stripe up the raised centre of the bonnet), i agree that its not the best look there but fair play for taking the time to test it out it was a good job!

I like them, very similar to the ones offered by Honda Access as an optional extra

it's too thick a line tbh, a pencil thin version would look better !!

yeah something a bit more discreet.

I reckon thinner and in a similar silver to the bonnet so you can only just see it.

Anyone good with photoshop?

They are very similar to the genuine Honda ones but I think the civic looks better without them.

Is it wrong I really like these I think a darker silver over the light would look a little more subtle

Its very very very wrong.. .. and you are a very bad man for even suggesting it

I think some extravagant pin stripe work might look good in the hands of an expert.
Theres not really straight lines to follow and wedge style pin stripes just dont look right IMO.
Looks like spider fangs or something...
