Speedo Cover Scratch.

Chaps,

Just wondering, if anyone knows if the plastic pane over the Speedo can be replaced?

Looks like the dash may be in the way and might have to move.

Was cleaning my car and must have had a tiny bit of grit in my cloth, when dusting the plastic pane, it's put a small group of scratches just about where the speed is displayed, and they're just enough to refract the light so you eyes focus on the scratches, not the speed, when glancing down.

You can polish them out but it will remove the anti glare protection. I'm not sure you can replace just the plastic without the whole binnacle

Looking at some Honda parts manuals, the meter unit does break down into the unit and lens, it's just whether they can be replaced independently.

Lens is £15, whole unit is £465

Right,

Off the phone with Honda.

Luckily they are modular, the lens can be replaced separately to the meter itself.

£44 for the lens, + labour, which is estimated to be 1:30, so all in about £180.

It's definitely better than a whole odometer, which they valued at £1300.

It seems petty over a small cluster of scratches, but they're right over where the speed is displayed and refract the light, that you have to double take your speed.

No idea what the part number is, it would probably be wrong also, as the prices I found in the manual were wrong.

No idea what the part number is
