Any Estate in view ?

Dear Honda fans and pros,

Would anyone know if Honda is planning to launch an Estate (Accord, Civic 11) in the future ?
It would be sad to be obliged to go Toyota...

Apparently not. I'm sure there'll be a Civic 11 in 3-4 years time.

Sales guys at Honda dealerships I've spoken to seem to be under the impression that the 10G's larger size puts it pretty much in Accord territory so a European Accord is unlikely.

The 2018 Toyota Corrolla estate looks nice though. Perhaps test drive.

You get an extra 2 years warranty with Toyota too...

Rumblings would point to 2021 for the 11G.

Well I hope that it doesn't have all the niggly faults that the 10G has.

I test drove the 2.0 Hybrid Corolla and the drivetrain is wonderful. Smooth and silent driving with a lot of power for daily driving.

My civic is roomier though and has the better interior. For example steering wheel feels like on lawn mower. Window controls are hard to reach if you don't have the arms of a dwarf.
The list goes on. Civic is more ergonomical but Corolla has good seats.
Put the engine / transmission in my Civic and I would buy it tomorrow.

Talking

I'm seriously considering ditching my Civic much earlier than I originally planned, take the financial punishment, and get a 2.0 Petrol Hybrid Top Spec Corolla. I like the 5 year warranty too - only 3 years on the clearly flawed Civic doesn't feel enough but a warranty is all very well, it doesn't compensate for the hassle of getting issues dealt with at all.

I can live with all that you've highlighted over my Civic's flaws. I've never driven a car that makes so many different noises during normal use, and the 10G Civic is the newest I've ever owned!

The only compromise for me personally would be the only partial leather seats available, perhaps Toyota can put some full leather in for a price... Is there a 'corinfo.com' by the way?

@stoo : You have hit the nail on the head there with one of your comments, trying to get issues resolved by Honda is a hassle, not necessarily the dealer - but waiting to hear from Honda UK and the factory can be painfully slow!!
This from a customer service perspective is really letting the Honda Quality brand image down, it's almost like they don't want to know!

Honda Cutting variations

"As well as abandoning diesel, Honda want to cut the number of model variations to a third of its current offering by 2025. This is claimed to reduce production costs globally by 10% money that can be redirected towards research and development."

So better sell our current Diesel before then or keep them until they fall apart?
