Euro 1.8 R18/USA R18 9th gen.

What are the similarities comparing the US 1.8 R18 and the Euro 1.8 R18.

The euro version has 140 too

Basically the same engine, some slightly different ancillaries and different ecu's due to differing emissions standards..

You will be surprised to hear that even after nearly 8 years of the R18 being on the UK/euro market the tuning options are limited.

A lot of the tuning companies focus on the K20.

Our ecu is quite locked down so no flash pro or similar... One tuning company were opening up the ecu's and re-programming, but beaver really took of because of the cost and the hassle of sending them the ecu.

Other stuff like air filters and exhausts are also available but again don't really offer much bang for buck.

However, on my old 8th gen I did install P2R's throttle body spacer (ordered from US) and despite mixed views about of these work or not... My car did have much better/stronger pull after 4k rpm and sounded better... Defiantly not placebo as some tried to tell me lol

Same here with my EX 8th generation Civic r18 had a Vibrant catback exhaust K&N Short Ram Intake and a MAP flash Pro tune done by vitviper netting 20 HP measured on a dyno.
