Rear bumper damage

Hi all,

Had my 1.6 diesel SE plus for a month and really enjoying it but unfortunately was hit from behind by foreign articulated lorry. Hit me in slow moving traffic as he filtered into my lane (there was the start of a bus lane ahead of him). Got his reg, photos of vehicles, company details but he hardly spoke a word of English so struggled.

When I contacted my insurance company they said I must pay the excess unless they admit responsibility and so far they aren't responding to my emails.

I'm just wondering if it's better if I buy a new bumper and replace it myself.

Any advice would be appreciated!

a good bodyshop will repair it for approx 150 (smart repair) no need for new bumper.. you shouldn't of mentioned it to your insurer if you're going to have it fixed yourself, you will have a marker now you have informed them ,just means you will have to declare it for the next 5 yrs .. good luck

best for you to visit a few bodyshops yourself and ask to see their work then make your mind up...
