Civic 1.6i Dtec

Well have had the car about 10 days now, and I must say I am really pleased. She is a 2016 SE PLUS NAVI, in sporty blue metallic and has done 21000 miles. Very comfortable, love the shape and style, and fuel economy. The only surprises were that the front interior lights dont come on when doors are opened, and no glove box light. But only minor probs, as opposed to the major plus points. Looking forward to some better weather to get out for a good run, but very pleased with my first Honda.

Are the interior lights switched off maybe? Switch is near the rear view mirror.

Hi Guys, The front interior lights are map reading lights, and have no switch. Just push for on and off. So there is only the centre interior light. Have put a led bulb in which helps a bit, but not great. As for mileage, I am getting late 50s to the gallon, but on longer drive was up to 64mpg. Need a long run to get the best idea I think. But loving it!

Last years 1000 mile holiday trip. Mix of motorway, main and country roads. A/C used and boot full. Not all flat roads either, those who know Devon know what I mean. BP ultimate diesel my fuel of choice but may swap to Esso synergy as that's my local station.

Sorry for the misunderstanding - mine is an SR with the glass roof, and the map reading lights double up as courtesy lights. The rear interior lights are mounted further back on the metal bit of the roof behind the glass bit near the shark's fin aerial.

on short or faster journeys my 2.2 was way better on fuel
but im starting to learn that if you do a journey of any length and travel between say 40mph and no higher than around 55mph the 1.6 can give real good mpg
my normal weekly driving is a mixture of short journeys and some of 30 mile or so and higher
once you put your foot down and get over 60 to 65 mph it then drops to around 50 to 55mpg I could get 60mpg at 80 to 90mph on motorway from my 2.2

Totally agree having driven my wifeís 1.6 and comparing it to her old 8G 2.2. I did a journey from Southampton to mid Wales last month (~560 miles return) and managed to get 65.3mpg. My wife drives from home to work (~25 miles round trip every day) and averages usually around 55mpg. She used to get similar numbers from her 2.2. Thatís all on board computer based numbers btw.

Think I've only ever had a few journeys where the current drive has reached over 70 mpg

I can get to work doing about 80mpg... you have to NO BRAKE... then it's quite easy. Just remember in time to start slowing down... otherwise that advise is bad!

This was the best I could do for my 30 mile commute this week (each ways) A complete mix of Town, B road, A road and duel carriage way.
