Odd question, can anyone take a pic of their window wipers for me?

I’m house sitting for family at the moment, and the locals have decided to introduce themselves to my car late at night - wake up to walk the dog and the Civic has its wipers stuck in the air.

I’ve put them down now but they don’t seem to be siting right. Can someone take a photo of theirs so I can compare? Basically the NSF wiper is sort of curling at the edge and I can’t figure out why. Brand new wipers they were too!

Is it the arm or the blade that's bent ? If it's the blade it's not so bad as they are easily replaced-- I have Bosch Aero twin fitted now which work well and look better (in my opinion ) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272489043199

Here's a pic of what I mean. The Red Circle indicates where wiper isn't laying flat (as noted by the previous marks if you can faintly make out) and the blue where I think the wiper arm was bent.

Am I going mad?

Hmm;
Try lifting the arm up and pushing in the center of the blade so the blade makes a ( shape again and plop it back down on the screen, hopefully that'll do the trick.

I've tried that but the wiper blade itself must be made of sturdy stuff, I can't seem to bend it.

I've given the arm a slight bend and it's made it a little better, but it was so strong I'm not convinced that's what is bent. But you can see from the photo it doesn't seem straight to me.

I'll have to find another Civic to compare to!

It's the blade that is borked unless Haltamer's idea works

Her is another pic which might help.
Your wiper arm appears to have a kink in it --if you look from the passenger side towards front of car looking down the arm should be straight apart from a slight hump ( about 6cm from where the blade attaches ) away from the screen. If you have another kink/bend towards the screen it will relieve the pressure on the blade which will stop it following the curvature of the screen. If so, arm off, in a vise ,and straighten , or you may be able to do it in situ with 2 pairs of grips.

I can't believe I'm having so much difficulty with this!

I took off the wiper blade and bent it as best I can, but it is solid, any bending will just break the pins that allow it to flex at all.

I've given the wiper arm a little bend - in situ - and it's a bit better. I still can't believe they've bent it, but I can't see how else it has come to be in the position it is.

I might try some new blades. Those ones Bill kindly linked to look like they would fit better to the screen.

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe they've swapped mines with someone elses in the street? They look like the right fit and they match..

My guess would be that you have over-thought that one.

Haha mate it has happened before! I stayed here once and woke up to the entire street having its wipers in the air. Some little grotbag must find it funny. Pity my window doesn’t overlook the space where it’s parked 😠
