Question Oil change warning - Is there an oil degradation sensor?

Just got a service warning in IMID to change oil. The car is a Civic 1.6 IDTEC 2014.
Does the car really has an oil degradation sensor? Or the warning I got is just pre-programmed?

Car is now 57k miles on the clock. Changed oil 7.5k miles ago. Driving style mainly city.

A reminder at 7.5k miles is entirely plausible if the vehicle has many cold starts, short runs.

It won't be based on oil deg but rather on some manufacturer calculations for variable service intervals.
