Anyone looked into remapping of 9th Gen yet?

Hi all,

I was just wondering whether anybody has considered remapping the 9th Gen idtec yet?

I know a number of companies remap the idtec in the Accord, some showing substantial increases. I believe the engine in the Accord is slightly different.

All the best,
Steve

I would say most people would be a little shy of this yet.... Although I look forward to seeing what the outcome is

Possibly, but I wouldn't think it's a problem just because it's a new car and a standard map hasn't been developed yet.

You have to remember that large tolerances are always built in and a car is under engineered as standard.

I would be looking into a custom remap.

But to answer the OP :

There probably isn't (m)any generic maps about for it yet
But if you took it to be custom tuned im sure there wouldn't be an issue

Celtics stats show a better increase than that

Honda Accord 2.2 i-DTEC 148 bhp

Original Power (Bhp) 148 Modified 221 (+73)
Original Torque (Lbft) 258 Modified 299 (+41)

Looks good.

Steve

Yeah, that's what I think.

I'm only looking at a custom map (probably Celtic), same as my 8th gen.

+73 bhp sounds optimistic with just a remap though

Yeah, I would agree.

However, they got +59 bhp out of my 8th Gen so it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

I will let you know when I've had it done!

Could be the iDtec is tuned for economy which might explain why there's so much headroom there for tuning.
