Why is the 2012> 1.8 called FK2? - Civinfo

Why is the 2012> 1.8 called FK2?

Umm are not model codes are for that generation?

Or is honda just getting lazy.

Model codes are the same for the 8th and 9th gen.

Not sure why tbh. Same chassis maybe?

Pottsy stated somewhere on here it's because it's basic a massive facelift/evolution of the 8g and did not warrant a new model code.

It's pretty much the same chassis albeit big changes to the rear to accommodate the new suspension and even though every body panel is different, the shell is again pretty much the same.
