1.6 Idtech - UK Rip off Price?

Just noticed this whilst looking up the French warranty for the 1.6 idtech in another thread.

UK OTR Price = 19,990

French OTR Price = Euro 19.490 = 16869.20

or more than 3,000 cheaper!!

HONDA Civic Nouvelle motorisation Diesel 1.6 i-DTEC 120CH

Another British rip off?

The GBP to EUR exchange rate is 1.147 at the moment. Also I looked on the France Honda website, currently starting at 22.3k EUR which is 19.4k. The special offer is good at 17.5k.

Which should make them cheaper surely as very little transportation costs.

France = many road miles plus freight costs.

It's 1.15778 according to XE at the moment although of course it will depend on where you check.

It was 1.6 when I ran the figures. I didn't realise it was a special offer, but you're right in the smaller print at the top it does say special offer (in French of course).

Price in CZ is 514000 CZK => 17500 GBP. That is official price. Civics are usually not sold here for official prices. Last year official price of my civic was 515k CZK (1,8 sport + some stuff) and I've paid 415k CZK... so I believe you could get the 1,6 version here for like 15-16k GBP easy.
