Diesel Shutter Grill

I have a 2.2 EX GT in OW via a lease co. on order... and although I've test driven this vehicle many times prior to ordering I asked my local dealer how and where the front grill opens and closes and under what conditions it operates

On both points they didnt and still do not have the answers. Does anyone know?

I'm assuming it's the grill in the front under the bonnet?

On a side note it would also appear the blue footwell ambient lighting has been removed from the GT Spec online...?

It's default is open. It closes when you are driving and all the computer wizardry decides you will save fuel by reducing the coefficient of drag. It takes into account lots of things like engine temp, speed, air con requirement etc. There's no simple way to say when it should and shouldn't be closed.

I believe the 2.2 has all the efficiency stuff that the 1.6 does doesn't it?....doesn't have the Aero alloys which I think are part of an overall efficiency improvement package.
