Is this normal?

Just passed the first 100 miles in my new Accord 2.2 i-DTEC.

After topping up I was surprised and disappointed to find it had only achieved 23.46 MPG. Unfortunately all short runs to date.

Is this normal while "running in" ?

Also I have noticed it can be rather smelly from diesel fumes.

Currently averaging 45mpg at a little over 12K and with temperatures averaging 5 deg. I should better that when the weather gets warmer.

Chris

My auto has just under 10k on and its still bad on fuel.

No better than when it was new come to think of it.

Less than 40mpg on a run

Must have a heavy foot

if you drive normally without being painfully slow you can achieve 35-40 mpg however on a run (london to southend) i was averaging around the 50 mark!

mine is on 24k hope this gives you somthing to look forward to
