Noisy I-DTEC engine

I have recently noticed that my 59 Accord 2.2 EX has become rather noisy. The engine noise out side the car reminds me of my PD engine in my Volkswagon Jetta.

It never used to be noisy........ even when hot its rather knocky. I have read somewhere that this seems to be usual for the automatic version? but I can't see why an auto box would make the engine noiser?

Is it worth a trip to the dealer to check the car engine software?

Eco display
You should pay a visit to your dealer to check the status of the engine. It could be a vibration absorber that makes all this trouble or something more serious.

it would seem the short hops over the christmas period have done this car no favours! Been up and down the motorway and its gone back to its quiet self.

Try premium fuel? I always fill with premium fuel but once my wife filled up with standard diesel, within secs after starting the car I knew she put the cheaper stuff in. tut tut
