recent issues

I eventuallly went ahead and got myself a map which i installed myself just last month which was very well handled, quick return and an excellent price. However, I removed it last week after the clutch started slipping excessivly. I thought that the map had probably just idetified the problem that was going to arise anyway but over the last week since unistalling it it hasn't slipped at all. No matter I went ahead when I started noticeing the slippage and bought a genuine honda clutch kit as I expect it will prob start again soon enough? What do you think?
THing is the HFT has stopped working now. If I press the telephone button ... nothing. Maybe I need to try and reinstall the original map again.
Also the 19" alloys are being removed this week and sold as I have the originals but dont have the original nuts. Any idea where I can get a set for the stock 16" wheels or even what I pshould be looking for?

I think a genuine honda clutch kit was a bad idea with a remap if the last one went tits up.
They aren't upto high torque remaps.
The stage1 celtic map with 292 lb ft torque is probably the best bet on the honda clutch.
Anything more you should think about something else.

seems that its a reputable map as most of the accord owners on the type accord site have it fitted. Anyway its stopped slipping now since being unistalled and I have a new clutch in waiting. What upgraded clutches if any would you recommend?

I would have recommened the kestrel kevlar clutch as its more oem in feel.
But there have been various problems with these unfortunately.
There is kevlar friction plate available from spain at under £100 which is reported to be good but no one in the UK has fitted it.
So I guess the only other option at the moment is the CG 6 paddle clutch.
But all paddle clutches suffer with chatter and are not as user friendly as OEM or Kevlar.

That map was supplied by us actually. The issue is that your clutch is probably just at that point where the extra circa 50lbft is causing the slip.

My own experience with this is that back in 2009 mine started slipping in April.. it did it for a few weeks. It then went away and didn't start doing it again until around November at which point I could make it slip on demand.

I had it replaced by Holdcroft, they adjust the cruise pedal switch, loaded the clutch correctly (very important) and changed the clutch fluid for good measure.. 18 months on, with the remap and some 35k miles covered - it still feels like new.

By the way the map has nothing to do with your handsfree kit, I have no idea what's going on there.

Yeah, I realise the clutch prob going to go at some time so have a new one waiting for install. HOnda mechanic will install for me. anyway had an xcarlink installed which might have something to do with HFT. Use my iphone which was paired and was working great - music would fade out when a call came through etc but just stopped working - not even a beep when pressing call button on steering wheel. Then did work one day and now gone again
